Grazhdanskaya Oborona “Pesni Radocti I Schast’ya”, the “Songs of Joy and Happiness” LP is the most obviously “punk” record of the GrOb catalog from a western perspective on what “punk” is sonically, but don’t let that be the selling point of the record, it is fully a GrOb recording, completely blownout, raw and abrasive. My mind can never help but to think of this album as the CONFUSE of Soviet-era Siberia, and possibly even more deconstructed and off-kilter at times.
